Book Review Friday! On The Ropes by Hallee Bridgeman
On The Ropes is a Romantic Suspense Novella by best-selling author Hallee Bridgeman.
Ruth had it all in New York, a twin sister/best friend, the career of her dreams as a doctor, and a fiancé that stole her breath away. But all that changed when she found herself in the middle of a triple homicide and the Russian Mafia. Everything she thought she knew was a lie, and her sister paid the price with her life. Six month’s later she goes by Mara and lives in a small Florida town. When she uses her medical skills to save a teenager bitten by a Rattlesnake, her cover gets blown. Will she survive long enough to testify?
Victor Kovalev is a boxer. He has no interest in his father’s less-than-legal business. When he falls in love with Christ and Ruth, he pulls further away from his father’s legacy. But, when Ruth witnesses his father ordering the murder of three men will he choose her or loyalty to his family?
This was a great read. I really enjoyed the struggle Ruth had within herself. She knew what was right, and she never swayed from that, but she sacrificed so much in order to the right thing. I felt her love for Victor and how she missed him even after his betrayal, and the twists kept coming with every page turn.
Great weekend read! I give it 4 stars!
